Nourished By Time is the musical project of Baltimore-born artist Marcus Brown, who’s emotionally charged blend of post-punk, New Wave, R&B, electro-funk, and experimental indie pop reflects a deeply personal and sharply observational voice, as captured on his breakout debut releases Erotic Probiotic 2 (2023) and Catching Chickens (2024). A Metamodernist, Brown crafts music that is as soulful as it is subversive – tackling themes of love, labor, existentialism, dreams, disillusionment, and hope. This summer, Nourished By Time will release his first full-length album on XL Recordings titled The Passionate Ones. Crafted between Baltimore, London and NYC, The Passionate Ones is a sermon, a twelve-track catharsis, howled from the underbelly of late-stage capitalism, written, produced, mixed, and sung entirely by Brown.
